Passion Rekindled: A Teacher’s Artistic Revival

“I feel I am reliving my childhood… Hunar Academy has fulfilled my childhood dreams.” This was the sentence of Ms. Zahida Khatoon (41), an Urdu teacher by profession and a student of Khattati classes at Hunar Academy.

Age is no barrier to learning!” is the philosophy Ms. Zahida lives by. Although she has always had a passion for art and a curiosity to learn, her busy routine left little time for it—until she discovered the Hunar Academy.

Hunar Academy’s flexible schedule allows me to pursue my passion for learning without disrupting my daily routine,” Zahida said, with a broad smile on her face, reflecting her happiness and satisfaction.

The aim of Hunar Academy is to fulfill the desire to create and the desire to show compassion without restriction. It caters to the need of working professionals to fulfill their dreams.

“I was initially skeptical about fitting in due to the generational gap, but this place has deepened my love for calligraphy,” Zahida said.

“Waseem Sabah is an exceptional calligraphy teacher who starts from the basics, unlike anyone else,” Zahida added.

Being an independent woman, Zahida believes that Hunar Academy is a great platform for people to learn and earn.

“Hunar Academy is a great opportunity for students to learn skills and earn in the future,” she claimed.

A Platform to Learn, Earn, and Grow

On talking about what motivates her to come to Hunar Academy to learn in the middle of her busy schedule, “the dedication of Waseem sir” was her answer.

Mr. Waseem Khan, a retired ‘chief-Khattat’ from the Delhi Urdu Academy, and two other lettering artists are on hand to teach students the usage of the pen to give stunning effects to their artwork.

Through Khattati, Miles2Smile and Hunar seek to fulfill two core human desires: creativity and compassion. By channeling our passion for art into designing, painting, and selling exquisite Arabic calligraphy, we aim to raise funds to support our orphan care and Hifz programs, helping underserved communities.

The classes and workshops provide a welcoming environment where participants can comfortably enhance their skills.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a beginner, the Khattati initiative offers the chance to learn valuable new skills to enhance your art.
