Underprivileged people hold a significant part in our societal fabric and are spread at every facet of it yet, unfortunately, are grappling with numerous forms of education and skills. Nabeela, a minor girl, witnessed the same deprivation until destiny decided to change the plot.
17-year-old Nabeela hails from Abul Fazal, Delhi. She is a student of standard 12th with the aim of becoming a teacher. Nabeela is a bright student with high ambitions, but what comes her way is the technical skills.
Due to a lack of resources at her home and no opportunity to join the computer classes due to financial constraints, Nabeela quite often found herself struggling with technologies. Her father searched for various coaching centers, but the fee became the hindrance.
After a long battle of search and struggle, Nabeela lost hope and decided to abandon her idea of exploring the world of technologies. But her love for technologies did not fade.
Nabeela started to explore the world of computers through the basic mobile phone, through her Youtube channel. Little did she know, this simple smartphone of hers will take her to her dream course, the computer course.
While exploring Youtube, her eyes caught the attention of an advertisement—the advertisement that rekindled her love to learn to operate computers.
In the advertisement, she learned about Hunar Academy, which aimed at equipping young girls and boys from economically disadvantaged backgrounds with in-demand skills and providing them with the resources necessary to advance in their careers.
Hunar Academy is a Miles2Smile initiative that serves as a bridge between education and employment, fostering a skilled and future-ready generation of young people in underprivileged communities.
It aims to provide free or low-cost, tech-enabled, skill-based courses to its students, along with guidance for competitive exams.
Hunar Academy is a transformative initiative that aims to provide skills development to the young girls and boys that are needed besides education. With a focus on cultivating young leaders and changemakers in their communities, the foundation has a comprehensive list of courses designed to offer practical skills and entrepreneurial opportunities
Nabeela immediately rushed to her father and told him about Hunar. The father-daughter duo decided to pay a visit to Hunar and learn about it further.
Fortunately, the academy was near their house, so the expenses of traveling were saved.
On entering the academy, Nabeela saw posters of various courses, but one particular poster made her all smile. The poster of the computer course!
After a while, the two met the administrative team of Hunar and learned that Nabeela could be a student of Hunar without paying a fee. What a relief it was for them!

After a short span, Nabeela joined the academy and geared up for exploring the tech world. Choosing her best attire to wear, she was ready for the first day of her class. On entering the class, she saw big monitors perfectly placed on a table; she comfortably settled herself on one of them.
Her teacher patiently taught her how to switch on the system. What a happiness it was for her as she did this for the first time in her life.
Holding the mouse, pressing the keys on the keyboard, and clicking on the buttons of the CPU was like a dream come true. Exploring the various softwares and versions of Microsoft was the first thing the academy taught her
Microsoft Word has now become a piece of cake for her. On our recent visit at the Hunar Academy, she excitedly showed us how smoothly she can work on the Word.
She typed a paragraph, changed the colors of the alphabets, added headings, changed fonts, and showed everything she has learned till now.
“I cannot thank Hunar enough for helping my dreams come true. The teachers here are so passionate about teaching that they enthusiastically solve all my problems. I have learned so many new things in such a short span of time and hope to continue learning them each day.” Nabeela said.
“They have never made me feel that I do not pay a fee; they pay attention to me the way they do for the students who pay a fee,” she added.
Miles2Smile and Hunar Academy wish her best of luck and aims to upgrade skills of youngsters like Nabeela
